This mornings breakfast was yummy! A flatbread sandwich with egg white and bacon. Everything is good with bacon. I had American cheese and of course I added grape jelly. Not healthy to say the least, but I was satisfied.

Quick dinner tonight
Exhaustion had overtaken my body this week. Tonight's dinner was a free for all. Every man for themselves. Leftovers consisting of a variety of ribs, spaghetti, bologna sandwiches, brats, and anything else that could be found in the fridge before it reached the brink of extinction! My kids hate those kinds of dinners, but they understand that there will be plenty more of them to come.

Spaghetti night
Tonight We are doing spaghetti for dinner. But my kids like spaghetti tacos. So I basically just do the hard part with making the spaghetti itself and let them do the rest. But my spaghetti is a tad different. I use ground Turkey and ground chicken, Turkey Italian sausage and smoked Turkey sausage links. No one is none the wiser nit knowing that I don't use ground beef. They all tell be they don't like ground Turkey. What my family doesn't know us that they have been eating it for years.
Sunday Family dinner
We do family dinner every Sunday night. Tonight's menu was simple yet tasty. We had what we call fried meatloaf. We make meatloaf mixture they way you would normally make meatloaf, But We shape them into patties and put them in a skillet to cook. Then We make gravy and smother them in gravy. Asking with that we had homemade mashed potatoes and sweet corn and greens.

My preggers lunch
So today I had an unbelievable craving for a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I used to make these all the time as a kid, so with today being Throw back Thursday, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and made me a few today. And they were AMAZING!

Chinese food...... sorta!
Dinner tonight was interesting to say the least. The mess hall made an attempt at Chinese food. They only way to describe it was interesting! Fried rice with no seasoning and Orange chicken with TONS of Orange and nothing else was anything but desirable. I cannot wait to go home.
Military Food
While on my military hiatus, I have been forced to eat at the mess hall! Needless to say that the food has been way below what my standards are. Today I went safe and ordered a cheeseburger and fries thinking that there is no way that you can mess that up. Well you can surely mess that up. The burger was actually soggy. And so were the fries. Which seemed as if they had been soaked in oil before frying. I ended up settling for a VERY simple salad and called it a day. Dinner should be pretty interesting.

Mother's Day dinner
Tonight's dinner was enjoyable because it was simple, and we were able to spend time with the whole family before my Military time away for a few weeks. We grilled strip steaks, pork steaks, brats, squash and zucchini. I had a Mac n cheese that I had previously put together and frozen to cook at a later time. I had also made a Rotel dip at my children's request. My mother made a 7 layer salad and that was it! Simple yet satisfying.
Mother's Day breakfast
This Mother's day started out with being awaken by my children ages 13, 9, 9, 5, serving me breakfast in bed. Now with me having the morning sickness issues I have been having, needless to say I was more than skeptical. But We moms do what we got to do for the sake of our children! So I suffered through the extremely "Cajun" Turkey bacon, scrambled eggs cooked waaaay past perfection topped with cheese, then microwaved because they got cold, and Eggo waffles, also microwaved to extra doneness because they had gotten cold. And I was served a nice tall glass of chocolate milk to wash it all down! Love my Children!

Beef Loin
My husband took me to Maggianos for dinner while we had a chance to slip away from the kids. I ordered the Beef Loin, among other things of course. But let me tell you, those beef loins were so soft they melted like butter in your mouth. I guess I'll be making some real soon because I can't go running to Maggianos every time I get that craving! My husband would have a heart attack!
Tonight's dinner
Tonight I was feeling some southern cooking. So I conjured up the energy to smother some pork chops. Which turned out to be AMAZING! I also made some homemade mashed potatoes, and Turnip greens. All washed down by sweet tea!

A slice of Noodle heaven
Today myself and a few classmates treated ourselves to Corner 17 after our mid terms totally fried our brains today. To say the least that we all had a bad case of writers cramp, so trying to use the chop sticks was pointless!
Breakfast for a Queen
This morning, since I am not plagued by morning sickness today, I chose a huge breakfast. I knew half of it wouldn't be consumed, But all I can say is it was what I wanted! On my date for one this morning I ordered a garden omelette with hollandaise plus bacon, very well done hash browns, a short stack of pancakes, and bananas foster French toast, and multiple refills of ice cold chocolate milk! I felt like a Queen!

Chicken something or other
Have you ever had a dish that you make that really doesn't have a name to it, but when you put it together it tastes amazing? Well that's how this dish is. It's nothing special really, But my hubby and kids love it! If you try this recipe, Larry me know how you like it.

Sub Sandwiches
Honey ham, Roasted Turkey, Roast Beef, and Hoagie bread, plus ask the side fixings you want. That was dinner tonight and the family loved it! I even provided Bacon!
Mostacioli with meatballs
I don't make this often because it is so time consuming. Time consuming for a mom of 4 with their own schedules of karate, basketball and a non cooking hubby. At least dinner is ready for tomorrow night.
Brunch farewell
Today hubby has a coworker that is leaving to go to a different office. He tells me, the night before of course, that he needs to take something for the farewell brunch. Through my frustration with my 45 year old child, I had enough ingredients to make a quiche. Bacon, Turkey sausage, spinach, onion, Swiss and my favorite addition, Fontina Cheese. It was a hit! I told them that hubby almost got hit for telling me last minute about his request. We made a deal that if they need my to make anything for an event, someone other the my Husband needs to be responsible for telling me.
Breakfast for Dinner
My children did not want a traditional dinner last night. They wanted waffles. Nit just any waffles, Mommies waffles! So breakfast for dinner it was. Homemade waffles, scrambled eggs and bacon with chocolate milk. It was a good night!

Chinese food
After taking International Cuisine, we can all agree that making your own Chinese food is the way to go. However; when laziness prevails, some EggFoo Young and Dim Sum from the Chinese food joint around the corner usually will do the trick. It's definitely not as good as mine, but it will do.

Pesto Chicken Pasta
Tonight I was actually able to cook a meal without feeling nauseous. I made a chicken pesto pasta. I used sauteed chicken breast, cream if chicken soup, heavy cream, Pesto and spaghetti noodles. Simple, yet satisfying. Hubby and the kids liked it, baby wasn't feeling it too much after i got done cooking, so we stuck to a light salad.
Wouldn't it be nice?!?!
As I was browsing one of my home furnishing apps today, I came across what i would call a Dream stove! All I could think of while looking at it was, ohhhhhh the possibilities! To be clear, I just want this for my home kitchen!

French Onion Soup
French Onion Soup was one thing that was on my "must haves" list of things to eat today. Applebee's was my destination after school. So in all my glory I ordered AND ate some Spinach Artichoke Dip, French Fries, And of course a piping hot bowl of French Onion Soup. And another top take home, in case that same incurable craving comes back later on tonight.

Fried Cabbage
Tonight was a simple dinner! Fried cabbage and Corn Bread with some sweet tea. It had no connection to any particular holiday or time if year, But just because that's what I wanted to make for dinner tonight. Hubby was happy, kids were happy, and Mommy and baby were especially happy!
Easter dinner
Most people do a huge dinner for Easter. Ham, greens, Hot Cross Buns and all that Jazz. We decided to do something different. We did Mexican! Mexican Soup, homemade Guac, Baja fish tacos, And Chicken Burritos. This was the BEST Easter dinner ever!

Chicken breakdown day!
After being gone from school for almost 1 1/2 years, being asked to break down a whole chicken for a skills assessment was extremely nerve wrecking. And let me tell you, when I say I jacked up that chicken, I JACKED UP THAT CHICKEN! But thanks to a very understanding and patient chef instructor, of whom I am most grateful, for taking the time to take me aside to show me how to do right, and giving me a refresher, I was given the opportunity to do the assessments again and I nailed it! That reassures my faith in some of the things that I thought had been lost at the school!

Great day for Grilling
The was so beautiful today that we decided to grill. Tomorrow's pending storms almost make grilling today a must! On the menu we have some T-bone steaks that happened to be on Sale at Shop-n-Save, Chicken legs, and Turkey Hot dogs. I also have some Squash and zucchini I'm going to grill! Can you say "Yummy for my tummy?"
Mexican Food Must
Today has been a Mexican Food binge day. With the Steak Tacos I had from El Cazador for lunch to the burritos I made for dinner tonight, I guess that's what my craving it's going to be while I await the arrival of my new future Chef. Yes, you heard me right! I have a "Bun in the oven." That explains the 3 visits to Q'Doba this week.
Mac-N-Cheese Day at L'Ecole
Today was an unusual day at L'Ecole. A few of our Chef instructors had been chosen for a competition to duplicate the Mac -N- Cheese from a very well known local Soul Food restaurant. As I listen to all the different and over simplified recipes and techniques to make this very simple dish, I realize that Simple is always better, and yet, Still delicious. I think I will be going home tonight to make my Very simple yet AMAZING Mac-N-Cheese.
